Air Products and Yara are advancing negotiations for a partnership combining Air Products' industrial gas capabilities with low-emission hydrogen and Yara's global ammonia production and distribution network. Key projects include the Louisiana Clean Energy Complex, expected to complete by 2030 and achieve financial close in mid-2026, and NEOM Green Hydrogen in Saudi Arabia, set to start operations in 2027.

In Louisiana, Yara will acquire 25% of the ammonia production, storage, and shipping facilities for $8-9 billion, integrating it into its global network. Air Products will own and operate industrial gases production, supplying 80% of low-carbon hydrogen to Yara under a 25-year agreement for 2.8 million tonnes annually. The remaining hydrogen will be delivered to Air Products' U.S. Gulf Coast customers via a 700-mile pipeline, with 5 million tonnes of high-purity CO2 sequestered annually.

In Saudi Arabia, Air Products will be the sole offtaker of up to 1.2 million tonnes of renewable ammonia from NEOM Green Hydrogen. Yara will commercialize unallocated ammonia globally through its shipping fleet on a commission basis, with the agreement planned for completion in the first half of 2026.

Air Products CEO Eduardo Menezes stated, "We are pleased to work with Yara to advance the global low-emission ammonia market." The partnership aligns with Yara's flexible nitrogen system, promoting energy diversification and profitable decarbonization while adhering to disciplined capital allocation policies. The Louisiana project leverages a proven, capital-efficient model for producing ammonia from externally sourced hydrogen, delivering strong returns.
